The New ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳dent Orientation has been designed to help you transition to university life. You will learn about what to expect in your courses, your new roles and responsibilities as undergraduate students, the many resources available to you and your success, and much more!

 

By participating in the orientation, you could be entered to win an iPad or XBOX Series S console.

 

This resource will launch Thursday, August 22 at 12:00 pm (AST)

 

To access:

  1. Go to
  2. Click “Log In” and enter your ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Email and Password. Your username and password may be found under the “Next Steps” tab on your applicant portal. Please log in at  Your username and password will be used to log into ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ services, including your ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ email. 
  3. You will be taken to your Moodle Dashboard/Homepage. Click “Dashboard.”

The New ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳dent Orientiation will cover topics like:

 

What to Expect in Your Courses

  • Receive advice from current students on how to succeed and get the most out of your first year.
  • Discover how your current feelings fit in with the feelings of your peers.
  • Gain a better idea of what to expect in your classes.
  • Become familiar with the expectations regarding your conduct as a ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳dent.

How to be a Successful Student

  • Know what is expected of you when it comes to writing at the university level.
  • Gain a foundational understanding of time management and its importance.
  • Learn how to study for your tests and exams.
  • Be able to list and describe the skillset of a successful undergraduate student with respect to your learning, growth, and academic achievement.

  • University life can be stressful. Learn about strategies for improving and maintaining your physical and mental health.

  • Gain knowledge and resources aimed at safe sex practices and safe substance use.

The Supports Available to You

  • There are many supports available to you as a ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳dent!
  • Learn about the resources at ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳, what they do, and how to access them.

Your Students Union (ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳SU)

  • Learn about the services available to you through your Students’ Union such as the student bus pass and ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳SU emergency bursary.
